The gf and I had our first "spat" tonight. It wasn't really a fight, but I got a bit fired up. She was pushing a button she didn't know existed. The sign of growth I see in myself is that I actually talked to her about why it bothered me, with words and shit. It's kinda amazing really how that works. It turned out fine but I really hate being mad at her. It gives me this awful feeling. I suppose it's a good sign that I hate that so much. Enough rambling.

How is one expected to work when the internet decides to spaz out at random intervals at inopportune times?!? Grrr!

It's a big deal, moving in. And I think it's happening. I consented, I'm not being forced. I'm ready and also not at all ready. I'm conflicted but I'm pretty sure it's not going to stop me. I adore her, I want to be with her, I'm ready to make a commitment. Yeah, I'm moving in.

Also, first day happened. IT disasters, paperwork snafus, and awkward conversations. Normal first day I guess. Also, my brain is full. That is all.

I realized last night that I expected my gf to process things in the same way I do. Not surprisingly, she doesn't. She requires time, and distance from the issue to work through things. The apology I was so desperately needing took time for her to get to. But when she got there, it was sincere and unforced. It's weird for me but that's just how she works. This will take some getting used to. Good thing she's worth the effort.

Also, I start the new job tomorrow. I'm excited and also nervous.

The first day of training for my new job was Saturday. It was super overwhelming but also wicked cool. The organization's trainer reminded me so much of Ellen. She had that super funny dry sense of humor thing going for her. She is also openly gay. Also, she is really really good at what she does. Best training I have ever been to.

I'm so happy to be in an organization where they are truly gay-friendly.

I go in Wednesday to fill out paperwork and all that jazz. Should be a roller coaster from here on out!

The USWNT won a gold medal this morning by beating Brazil. It was a beautiful, dirty, gritty, heartstopping, horrible, awesome game. It proves to me just how awful a coach Greg Ryan was and just how much work these athletes have done under a new coach in the last year. Hope Solo is redeemed and given her chance to put her money where her mouth is. The gold all but ensures Pia will keep her job. And they did it all without Abby. The girls of summer strike again. What a beautiful job!

Special shoutout to Carli who kicks ass like it's her job and to Heather O'Reily who just will not quit. Lori Chalupny, will you have my babies?

I'll start by saying that I'm totally new at this. I really have no idea what I'm doing. But, since I suppose someone might read this someday, here is the rundown of need to know items about me.

In no particular order (because who can choose an order)
1. I'm a girl. A gay one.
2. I'm old enough to know better and too young to care.
3. I believe life is an adventure.
4. my gf says I'm a do-gooder (she might be right)
5. I work in the non-profit world where money is tight and the rewards are crazy good.
6. I'm a huge soccer fan. Really, it's all about the women's soccer.
7. I'm growing into a huge women's basketball fan too. Now that I've consistently watched some WNBA games.
8. I love watching movies and cuddling on the couch.
9. I'm good at being the center of attention and telling stories.
10. I'm on the downhill slide towards 30, which used to really scare me.
11. I'm considering buying a house and being a grown-up for real, which still scares me.
12. I read lots of fanfic. specifically sports fic, TDWP, and Popular.

That will do for now. I imagine I'll end up using this blog to post stories and adventures. We'll see.
